Potentia P6 Personal High-Performance Assessments

Potentia’s innovative suite of assessments has been created to help you achieve a whole person perspective of yourself, employees, job candidates, customers,  and others around you. This gives you a thorough understanding of who they are, and exactly how you can help them to achieve success + satisfaction in the workplace.

Get to know the whole person.

These powerful tools can be used separately or in combination, for yourself, others, and your organization. Unlike most assessment tools, the P6 assessments provide essential insights about the whole person, not just one or two dimensions of an individual. Therefore, when used together, the P6 avoids common errors that often occur with over-simplified assessments and approaches. In addition, components of the P6 will complement other assessments you may already be using.

Used in conjunction with Job Performance Profiles, the Potentia P6 assessment reports for your hiring and performance development processes replace gut feelings and hunches with logical measurements that accurately predict success and fulfillment for any person in any job.

Motivations Suite

P6 DISC Assessment

Potentia’s proprietary DISC assessment determines a person’s work style, as well as what naturally motivates them to do the things they do (or don’t do). There’s the tried-and-true DISC analysis, circa 1928, which many of us are familiar with, and then there’s P6 DISC from Potentia, that delivers a full and comprehensive understanding of what motivates an individual’s behavior.

It accounts for…

  • Not just our business persona, but who we truly are at our core.
  • Not just who an individual is while at work, but who they are in their most comfortable, natural state.
  • Not just how people react when things are favorable, but how they deal with unfavorable situations. Like, in crunch time.
  • Not just 4 types of people, rather, a minimum of 32 types of individuals.

P6 Values Assessment

The Potentia P6 Values assessment evaluates the standards and principles upon which we base our life choices, otherwise known as our core values. They determine the basis for many of our responses and actions throughout life, and of course, at work.

This values model has enabled a wide variety of people around the world to better understand themselves and others. It focuses on values as one or the critical factors shaping human behavior, as well as influencing our judgments in terms of:

  • People, relationships, reputation
  • Products, tasks, results
  • Issues, problems, risks
  • Events, goals, vision

P6 Interests Assessment

The P6 Interests assessment helps identify our passions, disinterests, and stressors. Unlike other ‘interests’ assessments, it assesses 12 data points compared to the typical 6-8 data points. Critically, it also shows our interests in both our work and non-work life, since these often differ significantly for many people. It also identifies our ‘field of interests’ for the types of jobs and careers that best match our personal satisfaction and success goals. Lastly, it can help us avoid mis-matched roles that lead to distress, burnout, rust-out, or apathy.

What do Personal Interests have to do with business?

Attracting, developing, and retaining employees is more challenging than ever. Research shows that just 13% of workers view their work as meaningful. You do the math… that’s a whopping 87% who are unsatisfied.

The type of work that is most meaningful, interesting, and motivating to a person indicates …

  1. a longer-term interest in that line of work.
  2. a predictable pattern of work, tasks, and jobs that motivate a person (higher interest).
  3. the type of work, tasks, and jobs that may de-motivate a person (lower interest).

P6 Adaptability Assessment

The P6 Adaptability assessment describes our willingness (flexibility), as well as our inherent ability (versatility), to effectively deal with different, difficult, unclear or complex situations.

Let’s Talk About Change.

Did you know that change is about to change even more? It’s true. Researchers often cite the following four key dimensions regarding change in our lives and the world we live in. Sure, it seems like common knowledge, but the need for highly-adaptable leaders, managers and organizations has never been greater. And will only increase.

  1. The rate of change will continue to accelerate.
  2. The sources of change will continue to be less predictable.
  3. The areas of change will continue to broaden, diverge and take new forms.
  4. The nature of change will continue to significantly affect us at the individual, group, organizational and societal levels.

P6 Capabilities Assessment

Potentia’s P6 Capabilities assessment determines job-specific capabilities, such as specific knowledge, skills and experience necessary for successfully fulfilling job requirements, as well as transferrable capabilities, such as problem solving, which are important for success in jobs with similar types of performance requirements.

A thorough understanding of a person’s capabilities will help them succeed in their role, as well as become more useful to the business.

Job Specific Capabilities are unique to performing a specific job. They do not necessarily transfer to any other position. These capabilities typically set a minimum initial threshold for acceptable performance in a job.

Transferable Capabilities can transfer from one job to another. They are life skills like self-management, communication and task-management. These capabilities are especially important for more complex jobs, or when a job grows or varies in its performance requirements.

P6 Effective Emotions Assessment

The Effective Emotions (EE) assessment is a practical, easy-to-understand tool for both assessing and developing our Effective Emotions capabilities. It is based on in-depth research about both our emotions and our intelligence, and is designed to optimize both.

Understanding and Managing Our Emotions is Essential.

Highly self-aware and positively-motivated performers have higher success and satisfaction. In particular, our emotions often shape whether our behavior is more positively or negatively experienced by ourselves and others.

The implications for our individual success and satisfaction are significant, especially given that more positively motivated individuals tend to be more focused on achieving results, goals, growth, and working with others in cooperative ways. By contrast, more negatively-motivated individuals tend to be more resistant to other perspectives, options, actions, and relationships.

The specific characteristics in each phase of the EE process are to identify if our opportunity for strengthening performance can be best achieved by making attitude changes, or by developing more positive characteristics for actions related to our emotional response.

The P6 Effective Emotions assessment:

  • Focuses on our behavior patterns in favorable conditions when people tend to be characterized by more positive thinking, feelings and emotions.
  • Focuses on our behavior patterns in unfavorable situations when people tend to be more negative or reactive.
